Specifications: The plate is not very inspiring. A compass rose is depicted around the Rotterdam. On the edge as usual the names of the cities that have been visited. The board was given to travel agents because of ‘outstanding sales achievements’.

The Rotterdam is of course depicted in the center of the plate. In the background the skyline of New York with the World Trade Center.

Details: A beautifully subdued colored plate. It is relatively deep (3.3 cm) and contains the text ‘Holland America The Silver Cruise ss Rotterdam 1983’.

Specials: Contrary to what was customary until then, the visited cities are now not listed in the edge, but on the world map. This gives the appearance of a ‘clean’ plate. Apparently they were looking for a new style for the memorial plates.

Bijzonderhen: The edge is ‘flowery’ as of old. Often they are the same stylized flowers as you find on the tiles. The text on the plate is extensive, ‘Around the World Cruise, Flagship Rotterdam, Jan. 6 – Apr. 1985. “

Remarks: A plate that differs from the other ones. The image of the ship is no longer prominent in the foreground. The edge is pretty sober.

Details: A groor and heavy plate. The first plate, with the Statendam baptized in 1993 as the subject. Hence probably the text ‘The Tradition Continues’. Also a text: ’30th Grand World Cruise 1994. Holland America Line. Ms Statendam ‘.


Statendam 1994 II
This is a second plate of the ’30th Grand World Cruise 1994′ of the Statendam. The reasons that two signs of the same trip have been issued are unknown to me. The affected cities are not shown on either plate. 


Statendam 1994 III
Even a third, not known, plate of the ’30th Grand World Cruise 1994′ of the Statendam seems to have been issued.
